Mitsuri Kanroji is the Love Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps in the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba series. Born with superhuman muscle density and a voracious appetite, she joined the Corps to find a husband stronger than her. She wields a unique whip-like katana to execute her self-created Love Breathing technique. Born on June 6 into a family of six, Mitsuri was born with a physical condition where her muscle density is eight times that of an average person, granting her immense physical strength. She also possessed an abnormally large appetite. Because of these traits, coupled with her distinct pink and lime-green hair (which she claims turned that color from eating too much sakura mochi), she was ostracized and faced rejection during a marriage interview at age 17. Refusing to suppress her true nature, she joined the Demon Slayer Corps with the unconventional goal of finding a man who was strong enough to protect her and would accept her exactly as she is. Initially a disciple under the former Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, Mitsuri developed her own combat style known as Love Breathing. Her fighting style derives from Flame Breathing and utilizes a highly flexible, ribbon-like Nichirin blade. Her superhuman muscle density grants her immense striking speed and flexibility, allowing her to deliver rapid, sweeping strikes from distances that most swordsmen cannot achieve. Mitsuri plays a pivotal role throughout the series, most notably during the Swordsmith Village arc where she battles Upper Rank 4, Hantengu, successfully protecting Tanjiro, Nezuko, and the village blacksmiths. During the Infinity Castle and Sunrise Countdown arcs, she fights intensely against the Upper Rank 1 demon Kokushibo and later helps lead the charge against the Demon King, Muzan Kibutsuji. Throughout her journey, she develops a deep and romantic bond with Obanai Iguro, the Serpent Hashira. He was the one who gifted her the distinctive striped, thigh-high socks she wears. Mitsuri is known for her incredibly kind, passionate, and cheerful demeanor. She constantly compliments people in her mind and is deeply devoted to her comrades.
